Consulting and freelance work has been a part of Mackenzie’s career for over 10 years. From digital marketing, brand and talent management, and creative direction, Mackenzie has been able to help her client’s scale their business and grow into thriving brands.

One of Mackenzie’s passion’s has always been environmentalism. She directed Mighty Earth’s digital strategy and social media platforms as the Digital Content Strategist for over two years where she managed the email platform, social media content, paid advertising, digital fundraising, website, with an emphasis on storytelling on global environmental campaigns: commodities, deforestation, methane, Indigenous Peoples, decarbonization and heavy industry commodities. She worked directly with influencers and engagement, reporting on day-to-day analytics, and created opportunities to scale Mighty Earth’s presence across digital platforms.

She produced reels on various issues, created ads urging fast-food companies to report their methane emissions, and collaborated with an influencer pressuring Hyundai to clean up its supply chain.

Mackenzie worked at Faith in Public Life from September 2017 until May 2023. She began as a Communications Associate and was promoted to the Creative Content Manager where she implemented strategic planning around multimedia, design and social media. Faith in Public Life is a national movement of clergy and faith leaders united in the prophetic pursuit of justice, equality and the common good, their multi-faith and multiracial coalition works on reproductive health equity and democracy at the local, state and federal level.

She began her journey at FPL as a Communications Associate where she drafted and distributing media advisories and press releases, was a ghost writer for national and state-based faith leaders on voting rights, access to affordable healthcare and immigration restrictions. She managed press conferences and pitched media on the work of the organization

Awards & Recognitions

  • The systemic issues in America have a wide web of roots but grow from the same trunk. A major player feeding the issues is the disparity of wealth between classes, races and genders. Essentially, wealth inequality affects everyone.

    Cabrini University communication students were asked to be a part of this honors senior thesis where they pick a social justice topic then research, report, create multimedia content. Mackenzie was the Content Strategist and Interview Manager for the site, she structured, edited and organized the content, while aiding all team members during their interview process.

  • Cabrini’s founding President, Ursula Infante, MSC, the Mother Ursula Award is the only award given to a student that is voted on by his or her peers, and it honors a student who has best fulfilled the ideals of Cabrini through academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, leadership, and service to fellow classmates and Cabrini College.

  • The Mastronardi Award for Service and Leadership was presented to Mariel Delacruz ’16, Ashley Douglas ’15, Mackenzie Harris ’16 and Rebecca Wagenbauer ’16 for their outstanding contributions to leadership in service to the community.

Undergraduate Achievements

Mackenzie loved her alma mater, Cabrini College, now, Cabrini University. It was here where she found her passion in telling stories for change. She was the Content Strategist and Interview Manager for her honor’s thesis course. The course was a year long intensive student-produced multimedia website. The team received a Silver Davey Award from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for the Social Responsibility category via AmericanWealthInequality.com. The yearlong Honors Convergence class is where students create and collect video, audio, creative writing, and photography around a common theme.

She was the Editor-in-Chief of Cabrini’s online and print newspaper The Loquitur where she oversaw a team of 50 both editors and staff writers. The team rebranded the of school paper and website. The Loquitur ultimately was a finalist for two American Collegiate Press Pacemaker awards: Design of the Year 2015 and Best Editorial Illustration 2015.
